The lil old lady
As I look in the mirror I can see a little old haggard lady chucking out trash out of a cardboard box. I find a broken, ripped yellow umbrella. As I search for more things to add with my collections I find a pile of old rusted cans, and find a perfect can to add to my collection of things. As I put the can in my helpful trolley I looked in a golf bag, it smelt disgusting. When I keep searching for more things I find a little box and inside I find plastic birds. In the corner of my eye I can see an old rusty car. I jump inside the rusty car and sniff a car air freshener and lean back on the chair and suddenly it brakes. Then I found a wooden box I reached inside and grabbed. I looked at the box happily and opened it and discovered a shiny diamond ring I grabbed and quickly went to my hut and I put some candles on. I put the can on top of the candle and put the ring in then it somehow turned into lots of stars. I was so HAPPY. I sat down on my chair and took a deeeeeep breath. I leaned back on my chair and had a nap.

The Impact of Climate Change in Aotearoa.
The Impact of Climate Change in Aotearoa.
We are learning to explain how climate change affects our environment in Aotearoa.
I will be explaining About climate change in Aotearoa and how it affects our environment. What is climate change? Climate change is when weather can change a lot. For example, it’s winter but it’s hot everyday, that is called climate change. Climate change is already affecting NZ. Changes include alteration to temperature, sea level rise, ocean acidity wind and sunshine.
I will be explaining how water impacts, gas impacts and flood impacts.
Firstly, Climate change is already affecting NZ. Changes include alteration to temperature, sea level rise, ocean acidity wind and sunshine. For example, the weather has become too hot. During summer we were in a drought. I feel like we can try and slow down droughts and drink less water and drink more fizzy.
Secondly, another thing that is being done is that factories and cars cause gas and that affects our environment. Gas can come from erupted volcanoes, wildfires and factories. For example, the smoke can kill our food crops and that can affect our clouds. We can reduce the gas that kills our food crops and I think it’s important to help reduce gas.
Thirdly, flooding comes from storms and rain. They can flood houses and can flood streets. For example you're stuck in a house and it's flooded and the streets are flooded as well. Floods can damage houses and they can drown people. We can reduce the flood by making houses stronger and more protective.
In Conclusion, I think it's important that we reduce climate change because it can affect our environment and damage our food crops, damage houses and cause floods to our environment.

Pollution
Pollution.
WALT describe an environmental problem and explain what people do to reduce its impact on our world.
Plastic pollution has a direct and deadly effect on wildlife. Thousands of seabirds and sea turtles, seals and other marine mammals are killed each year after swallowing plastic or getting entangled in it.
When the rubbish goes in the landfill the rubbish can go into the ocean and sea animals like turtles are eating plastic bags because they think it is food. Another thing that is happening is that factories, active volcanoes and wildfires are polluting the air and can damage our food crops.
Firstly one thing that is happening around the world to help reduce problems caused by plastic pollution is that people are stopping the use of plastic shopping bags and now using cotton shopping bags instead. Many governments around the world are banning the use of plastic shopping bags.
Secondly another thing that is being done to reduce the problems caused by plastic pollution is that in some schools in NZ and around the world, many students are having less rubbish like chip packets and those kind of things in their lunch boxes. This means that instead of having plastic packaging in our lunch box, we can use reusable containers for our snacks and sandwiches.
Lastly to reduce the problem is that people are picking the rubbish up so there will be no more plastic in the oceans that means the oceans will be free of rubbish for the world.
So in conclusion to reduce the problems caused by plastic pollution, many people are sending their plastic rubbish to a recycling stations.
The plastics get sent to factories around the world to be used to make furniture, clothes and all sorts of things.
